Michael Keaton's stint as Batman, as good as we remembered?
Tim Burton’s Batman was a cultural juggernaut in 1989, riding a wave of hype and an iconic performance from Jack Nicholson to box office success. The unlikely casting of Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman worked and this ‘darker’ version of Batman can be seen as the forebearer of so many of the comic book adaptations that now rule the box office. With Batman Returns, Burton drove his vision for the dark knight further, tripling the villains to include Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman, Danny Devito’s penguin and the new villain, Christopher Walken’s Max Shreck
In this episode:
-How dark is this dark version of Batman?
-Batman 89 vs Batman 66
-The ghost of David Bowie
-Jack Nicholson laughing all the way to the bank
-The Joker knows a graphic designer
-A great Michelle Pfeiffer performance as Selena Kyle/ Catwoman.
-Danny Devito’s relatable performance as Penguin
-The Ghost of David Bowie pops by again
-And let me be clear, two uncannily pitch perfect Christopher Walken impersonations
